Hi Everyone! We have finally arrived in Wilmington, NC to our beautiful home on Makai. The weather has been amazing and we've even had a few storms here and there :) We are currently moving all of our essentials onto the boat and ordering supplies for our journey. Our current departure date is June 1st and we may even have some friends along for the trip.
Glad to see you guys made it! I'm looking forward to seeing how the preparations go! Nice shirt, Kaiao ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe! Had a blast visiting you and Katie, can't wait to do it again!

ReplyDeleteWrote a long letter, but Google forced me to think up a new password and told me I had to enter all these alternative email addresses that I don't have, and gave me at least a 3 hour run-around, and in the process it erased my original letter to you :( . After shutting down the computer and trying to publish via your blogspot a second time it seems now to be sending. I basically asked you a whole bunch of questions about painting on the new name & port, the space, the galley, the bunks/berths (single/double?), how dogs are doing, what kind of supplies, snail-mail address???? Some others too but I'm burned out from what Google put me through. So glad you folks got to see Joe (Hi, Joe!!) in Alabama (Maxwell AFB?) on your way to North Carolina. Hokulea (www.hokulea.org) starts her round the world voyage Saturday. Exciting! Maybe you'll cross paths--ya' never know :) . XOXO
ReplyDeleteSorry for the above meltdown. Do you think some of these computer "events" would be less with a MacBook? (As opposed to getting another PC-type?) The Dell desktop will be 10 years old this November. I've been looking at the Apple/Mac website and the MacBooks section in particular. The website, however is gigantic and, to me, kind of confusing. Would appreciate any opinions either of you might have on the subject. But I know you're really busy. Only if you want to and have the time. Your first class mail is arriving here now, so would you like us to forward anything we get for the next week or two? Let me know. Hokulea starts today. Her escort boat is a lovely sail boat with a solar panel. Dad showed me a picture of her. If I come across it again I'll Facebook it to you. Have a beautiful weekend :) ! Have you taken Makai out for a sail yet? Was it a thrill-&-a-half?? Love those pictures!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteAmanda! Look at those braids!
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie!! Guess what?! I taught myself how to french braid my hair on the first leg of the trip! I appreciate your inspiration :) I hope you are doing well!
